The course has two aims: to cover basic research methods and to give the students the opportunity to write and present a literature review associated with their summer project. In this course, the students will learn about scientific methodology, research ethics, statistics and hypothesis testing, the structure of a scientific paper and oral presentation issues. The course has strong seminar character, that is, regular attendance (beyond the 70% minimum requirement imposed by College) and active participation in class are highly encouraged.

Prerequisites:
This course is exclusively for students of the MSc Computer Graphics, Vision & Imaging programme, for students of MRes Virtual Reality, and for EngD students of the EngD VEIV programme.
Assessment:
The assessment will be based on two course works, a written literature review and a final presentation. See here for more information.
