Mode of Assessment

The course has the following assessment components:

  • Course Work Section (2 pieces, 20% total).
  • Written Literature Review (max(!) 10,000 words, 60%).
  • Final Presentation on literature and planned research (15 minutes including questions, 20%).

    • Late Policy

    The departmental guideline on late policies for coursework submissions allows for individual regulations for each course. In COMP GV16, the late policy is as follows:

  • Submissions after the deadline but within 24 hours of it will be marked down to 90% of the number of points achieved.
  • Submissions later than 24 hours, but within 48 hours from the deadline will be marked down to 80% of the number of points achieved.
  • Submissions later than 48 hours will receive 0%.

    • For the avoidance of doubt, this policy equally applies to the Literature Review submission.

    Pass Requirements

    To pass this course, students must:

  • Deliver a proper attempt at each of coursework, literature review and oral presentation.
  • Obtain an average of at least 50% when all assessment components of the course are weighted together.
