Animations uploaded to video.google.co.uk missing

Animated gifs uploaded to Google Video no longer work. Google claims to have migrated them to YouTube but set them private. This may be true. But in reality they are simply gone.

It is possible to upload copies into YouTube yourself but yo tube rejects animated gifs.

Convert animated GIF to MPEG

Eg using ImageMagick. Example unix command line:

convert pi_movie.gif pi_movie.mpg
