More on HDR

Sadly, I discovered that Photoshop is way better than photomatix, and to make it accept pictures from the same RAW it’s difficult (you have to convert the jpeg to some other format and back, so all the info are erased, and set the EV manually). This is an example of a photoshop HDR:
House of Parliament

It looks like I need a tripod to take different pictures without moving the camera.

More pictures here.

Sorry Zana for not having posted lately, we’ve been busy a lot with deadlines and… pictures :)

Alternative process:

1) Take a RAW picture.
2) Save 3 different jpegs from it: overexposed, underexposed and correctly exposed.
3) Combine them in a HDR picture.

Here’s the result:

Antisocial behaviour like street graffiti is increasing, and is becoming a problem which is no longer confined to youngsters.

Thanks to Chris I discovered a really interesting way to take pictures. In a nutshell, you take 3,5 or more pictures of the same subject with different exposures and then you combine them using a software like Photomatix. In my opinion the result is really nice, because you can have the perfect exposure for every part of the picture. I’ve been playing with HDR for just a couple of days, so I don’t have nice examples yet, but it really looks promising.

Things to keep in mind:

- Place your camera on a tripod or on a surface.
- The glass is your enemy, so open the window before taking a picture (I know this is obvious but on the 7th floor you can’t open the windows, damn it!).
- Take 5 pictures or more if you can. You can always remove them afterwards.
- When you use Photomatix, HDR->Generate AND HDR->Tone Mapping. If you don’t do the second step you’ll be highly disappointed :)

I’ll put a couple of pictures here just to give the idea, but they’re not really nice.
Have a look at Saint Wiki if you want more info and examples.

Today we discovered that Priscilla’s favorite transport mean is… a Lego Mindstorm NXT robot. She really likes riding it around to explore the neighborhood.

…yes, I’m still playing with Lego, and you know what? They pay me to do so! IYF! :)

Anyway enjoy the video :)

Follow Mr Berlusconi

December 17th, 2006 by JaCk

During today’s Milan FC Christmas party:
Berlusconi (ex Prime Minister and owner of Milan FC and A LOT of other stuff in Italy) declared that Shevchenko, who chose to play for Chelsea FC, is not a real man (and a real Milan man either) because he was weak and decided to follow his wife to London like he was her dog. He even added that he came here to “breathe the fog which is so good for the lungs”.

I will just put here Berlusconi’s picture and Shevchenko’s wife picture, and you can decide which one you would have followed:

A brief note, I must state here that this post is my (Ettore’s) responsability only and Elisa didn’t approve it. :)

This is the original link of the news (in Italian and with more pictures - not Berlusconi’s).
